Referral
requirements

Westside Rheumatology offers a service on a referral-only basis. Please speak to your general practitioner about obtaining a referral to a rheumatology specialist.

Please note, we don’t offer rheumatology consultations for WorkCover, Workers Compensation or third-party claims.

How to make
an appointment

Please give us a call on: (07) 2111 1588, or
Email us at: admin@westsiderheumatology.com.au

Please note, you will need a referral from your general practitioner before an appointment can be confirmed. Head to our contact page for our practise locations.

How to confirm
your appointment

Once booked, we’ll send confirmation of your appointment by email.

Two days before your appointment, we will send you a text message to confirm your attendance. You must reply to the text message to confirm your appointment.

Attending your appointment

What to bring

Where relevant, please bring results of any blood tests, imaging, or any other specialist information as advised by your general practitioner. If you’re unsure what to bring to your appointment, please contact us.

Head to our contact page for more information about getting to our clinics.

Upon arrival

Please check in at reception upon arrival. We’ll ask you to take a seat in the waiting area until you are called for your appointment.

Late arrival & failure to attend

Please make sure to arrive on time. Arriving more than 15 minutes late will cause your appointment to be cancelled, to avoid impacting other patients.

If you fail to attend without contacting us, your appointment will not be rescheduled.

Payment

We are a private billing practice and bulk billing is not available.

Eftpos is preferred. We also accept credit cards (Visa & Mastercard), and DVA.

We only accept cash payments for the exact amount.

Medicare rebates

If you’ve registered your bank account details with Medicare and have a valid general practitioner referral, we’ll initiate your Medicare rebate on the day.

If you haven’t yet registered with Medicare, we’ll issue you a receipt that will allow you to make a claim yourself once registered.
